Using Yahoo Exchange Rates
BrightBooks supports automatic exchange rate updates using Yahoo Finance rates, allowing you to manage multi-currency transactions with ease and accuracy.
What Are Yahoo Rates?
Yahoo rates refer to exchange rates sourced from Yahoo Finance, a trusted provider of financial data. In BrightBooks, these rates are used to automatically update the conversion rates between your base currency and any foreign currencies you've enabled.
This ensures your invoices, bills, and reports reflect the most current exchange rates available.
How to Enable Yahoo Exchange Rates
Log in to BrightBooks.
Click the Settings icon (top right).
Go to Currencies under the Financial Settings section.
Check the box labelled Use Yahoo Exchange Rates.
Click Save.
Once enabled, BrightBooks will automatically fetch the latest exchange rates each day from Yahoo Finance.
Important Notes
Exchange rates are updated daily and apply to new transactions only.
Historical transactions retain the rate that was current at the time they were recorded.
If Yahoo’s exchange rate service is temporarily unavailable, you may need to enter rates manually.
If you want to turn of Yahoo Exchange Rates and use your own Rates, you will need to contact support.
