Sometimes, when you use BrightBooks, you may see a message saying “Please verify you are human”. This is a normal part of how BrightBooks works.
What this check is
- It’s a quick security check to make sure it’s a real person using BrightBooks, not an automated program.
- You might:
- See a box to tick (for example, “Please verify you are human”), or
- See the page reload.
Once the check is passed, you can carry on using BrightBooks as normal.
Why it was added
- To help protect your account and data.
- It’s there to keep BrightBooks safe for everyone.
How often you’ll see it
- Most people will only see it now and then.
- You might see it more often if:
- You use a new device or browser, or
- Your browser regularly clears cookies (so BrightBooks can’t remember you).
If you see it almost every time you log in or move around the site, please let Support know.
Can it be turned off?
- No, it can’t be switched off for individual users.
- If it appears too often, Support can check whether anything unusual is going on with your account or browser.
If it gets stuck on “verifying”
Sometimes the screen may seem to stay on “verifying” and not move on. Try these steps in order:
- Refresh the page
- Click the Refresh/Reload button in your browser and try again.
- Try another browser or device
- If you’re using Chrome, try Edge, Firefox, Safari, or another device if you can.
- If it works elsewhere, the problem is likely with the original browser.
- Close and reopen your browser
- Fully close the browser (all windows), reopen it, and try again.
- Contact Support
- If it still won’t move past “verifying”, contact BrightBooks Support.
- Let us know:
- Which browser you’re using (for example, Chrome), and
- That it is stuck on “verifying”.
