We're pleased to share what's new and improved in BrightBooks this release, including a few fixes you asked for.
New Features
New Feature
SEPA payments now meet the latest European payment standard (Ireland)
Payments made by SEPA transfer now include fully structured address details for your business and your suppliers, keeping you ready for the updated European payment standard that takes effect in November 2026. If any required address details — street, postcode, town or country — are missing for your business or a supplier, you'll be told exactly what's needed before a payment file is created, so there's nothing left to chance at the bank. Improvements & Fixes
When adding a new UK business, your VAT number is now checked to make sure it's in the correct format, helping avoid issues later. |
The business country now always appears correctly on sales invoices. |
Projects with recorded time now reliably appear when you come to create a sales invoice, so your time is never left unbilled. |
The declaration tick box needed to submit an MTD ITSA return is now always shown, so your submission can be completed smoothly. |
Opening a business from your business list now works correctly every time. |
Report PDF exports and invoice pages now work reliably, even where existing records contain special characters or formatting. |
The country field on a customer's invoice address now stays correct when the address is updated in Bright Client. |
Customers based in Ireland no longer see an incorrect VAT rate message. |
Quick Payments now save reliably and no longer get stuck. |
CSV import of receipts no longer sets an incorrect VAT reference for businesses on the appropriate accounting basis. |
The payments manager link on sales invoices now works correctly. |
The MTD ITSA screen now opens correctly from every part of BrightBooks. |
Emailing Goods Out and Goods In documents directly from BrightBooks now works correctly again. |
When sending emails from BrightBooks, you can now add up to 5 addresses in the CC field, with a clear message if you try to add more. |
For BC-integrated practices, the invoice address on a customer record now uses the same address picker as other Bright Client-linked fields, making it easier to reuse an address you've already entered rather than typing it again. |
